8:00 AM Hotel Pick-Up & Journey to Pashupatinath Temple:+
Your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel doorstep in Kathmandu. Then, riding in our private vehicle, you will head to Pashupatinath Temple. Within a short drive, you can reach the temple premises. The main shrine is dedicated to lord Shiva, and entry is allowed only for Hindu people. There are plenty of things to see and visit apart from the main shrine. You can explore the surrounding temple complex, see traditional shrines, the sacred Bagmati River, cremation ghats, and other religious monuments.
9:30 AM Boudhanath Stupa:+
Now it's time to explore the Boudhanath stupa located in Boudha, which is approximately
3.9 kilometers from Pashupatinath. Riding for just 10 to 15 minutes, we will reach Boudhanath and the Boudhanath stupa. This Stupa is a religious site for both Hindu and Buddhist people. Tibetan Buddhists often call this place a mini Tibet.
Boudhanath's main shrine is 36 meters tall and is decorated with prayer flags, spinning wheels and the iconic all-seeing Buddha eyes. Here you can meet the pilgrims offering prayers and Buddhist rituals. You can also light the butter lamps here.
11:00 AM Lunch Break:+
After exploring the stupa, it's time to enjoy lunch. Many rooftop restaurants are there surrounding the Boudhanath Stupa. You can enjoy international cuisine or traditional Nepali dishes such as Dal Bhat, momos and thukpa. Enjoying the panoramic view of the stupa while having delicious lunch is a fantastic way to spend your holiday.
12:30 PM Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple):+
After lunch, we will head toward the Swayambhunath temple. Getting out of our vehicle first we will explore the Swayambhunath Buddha Park first. Here you can find the giant golden statue of Gautam Buddha, Chenrezig and Guru Rinpoche.
Then we will climb the stairs to reach the main shrine, which looks similar to the Boudha stupa. During the walk, you can encounter the monkeys. The main shrine is called Swayambhu Mahachaitya; from here, you can enjoy the 360-degree view of Kathmandu Valley.
There are other shrines and stupas around the main shrine which you can explore at your own pace.
2:30 PM Kathmandu Durbar Square(Hanuman Dhoka):+
Now it's time to explore one of the most visited UNESCO sites in Kathmandu. This historic royal complex is also called Hanuman Dhoka or Basantapur Durbar Kshetra. It is famous for ancient palaces, temples, courtyards, and traditional Newari architecture. Our tour guide will take you to Hanuman Dhoka Palace, Taleju Temple, Kasthamandap, and Kumari Ghar, the residence of the Living Goddess Kumari.
Note: Don’t miss the opportunity to experience the traditional rickshaw ride around the historic streets of Basantapur. It’s a wonderful way to experience the vibrant atmosphere of Kathmandu without giving stress to your legs.
4:30 PM Hotel Drop-Off: +
Later in the evening, around 4:30, our vehicles will drop you back at your hotel doorstep. Our Kathmandu UNESCO Heritage sites tour ends in this memorable way.
