What can you expect?

It all starts in Nepal's capital city, Kathmandu, lying inside the Kathmandu Valley. According to legend, the entire valley used to be a giant lake. The iconic Manjuree cut a path between the mountains with his sword of wisdom to drain the lake. This took 292 years and 5 months to drain fully, and thus slowly the Kathmandu Valley was formed.

Three ancient Newari kingdoms occupied the valley, namely Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur. With each its own style of architecture and Newari dialect, you can imagine the amazing sights to be seen at the start of your 9-day Kathmandu Chitwan Pokhara tour! On the first evening of your stay in Nepal, Nobel Holidays takes you for an amazing welcome dinner in a traditional Nepali restaurant with a live culture show.

Sightseeing in Kathmandu + sunset/rise view at Nagarkot:

We have many sights to see in Kathmandu and prepare to head out just after breakfast. Nobel Holidays' travel guide and driver will be waiting for you at the reception to officially start your Kathmandu Chitwan Pokhara sightseeing tour in Nepal of 9 days. Our first stop is the famous monkey temple, the Swayambunath Stupa.

As a symbol of peace and tranquility, the white stupa overlooking the Kathmandu Valley is surrounded by a forest inhabited by various families of monkeys. Hence the nickname, the monkey temple. As for our next stop, we head to the alleys of Basantapur; here we can enter and go sightseeing around Kathmandu's Durbar Square.

A giant open terrain filled with huge ancient palace buildings and Hindu temples. Our third place of sightseeing in Kathmandu is the giant Boudhanath Stupa. This enormous white stupa is one of the most important pilgrimage spots for Buddhists from around the world. Around the stupa, you can find yoga and meditation centers, rooftop restaurants and souvenir shops. After sightseeing here, we head on to one of Kathmandu's most famous Hindu temples, the Pashupatinath temple.

According to legend, a piece of the Hindu God Shiva'sShiva's trident is buried here. The temple is divided on both banks of the Bagmati River that runs through Kathmandu. Enjoy the sights, and interact with the local gurus. In the late afternoon, we drive on to Nagarkot. After check-in the hotel, you can hike a bit further to a viewpoint and see a beautiful sunset view, with, on clear days, the snow-capped Himalayas in the backdrop. The real magic, however, is the next morning when you'll get to see a sunrise view from Nagarkot's viewpoint!

Drive to Bhaktapur, Patan and back to Kathmandu:

Bhaktapur, one of the old kingdoms of the Kathmandu Valley lays just between the city and Nagarkot, our overnight destination. This makes it perfect for a quick stop at Bhaktapur's Durbar Square. You'll directly see the difference in architecture and culture.

Bhaktapur is a pure Newari town, still practicing ancient handicraft skills, which you'll get to see around Potteries Square. After enjoying the sights at Bhaktapur's Durbar Square, we drive to Lalitpur's Patan. This part of Kathmandu city used to be similar to Bhaktapur, its own kingdom.

And like Kathmandu and Bhaktapur, Patan also has its own Durbar Square. It has the most temples, compared to the other two and is famous for its Hindu Krishna Temple. Will enjoy a guided tour around the square before returning to Kathmandu.

Chitwan jungle safari:

What an incredible start to the 9-day Kathmandu Chitwan Pokhara tour, and it's only getting better! Our next stop is Chitwan, Sauraha. Here in the lower Terai region, the temperatures are more tropical, and Chitwan's jungles offer the perfect chance to encounter exotic wildlife up close!

We'll spend two amazing nights at one of the resorts bordering the National Park. Learn about the unique Tharu culture, enjoy a canoe ride on the Rapti River, and go for a jungle safari. During the safari, you'll have real chances to see the protected One-Horned Asian Rhino, and if you're lucky, the Royal Bengalese Tiger as well!

Other activities include a refreshing time in the River during the elephants' washing time, a visit to the Tharu museum and the Elephant Preservation & Health Center.

The magical lakeside city Pokhara:

As a last stop on the 9-day Kathmandu Chitwan Pokhara tour, as you can guess by the name of this amazing tour, Nobel Holidays takes you to the magical lakeside city of Pokhara! It'll take about 5 to 6 hours by land transportation to reach Pokhara from Chitwan.

Following the Seti River, you'll quickly notice in the distance Mt Machhapuchhare towering over a city lying low at the banks of Phewa Lake. Known as the cleanest city in Nepal, Pokhara offers a lot of tourist activities. On our first morning, we can head up to Sarangkot Hill in the early hours.

From here, a stunning sunrise view over the Pokhara Valley with the southern Annapurna Himalayas in the backdrop! After breakfast, we head out and start by enjoying a relaxing boat ride on Phewa Lake. The water feels cool to the touch, and seeing the sun glistening over the water makes for the perfect morning!

On the lake is a small island where the Tal Barahi temple rests. A quick visit there before we head back on solid ground. The rest of the day we head into Pokhara city, visiting a few places such as the famous Devi's Fall waterfall and the Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave that runs below it.

Back to Kathmandu:

On day seven of the 9 days Kathmandu Chitwan Pokhara tour, we head back to Kathmandu. We can either choose the long scenic route via bus, or choose to fly by airplane. Note that airfare charges are not included in this package organized by Nobel Holidays, but can be arranged.

Once back at your hotel in Kathmandu, we suggest you enjoy your last moments by heading out to Thamel, the tourist area of Kathmandu, for some last sightseeing or shopping. The next morning, we'll make sure to transfer you back to the international airport for your ongoing departure.
